Politics is a boisterous business. Passionate opinions do battle, ideas grapple and clash. Argument is robust and skins must be thick. But there must be rules.

MP Watch Witney exists to watch our MP. We listen to how he speaks about climate change and we watch how he votes. We expose it all to the light, and we confront it in the public square. But there must be rules.

We are appalled at the abuse that MPs suffer; we believe that it’s wrong when protest threatens safety; that invading homes and private lives is wrong. We will do none of this. Respect is paramount to MP Watch Witney. We have a zero-tolerance approach to rude, aggressive or offensive communications.

Our strong desire is that Charlie and his family should live in safety and peace, especially here in West Oxfordshire.

Politics is a boisterous business, but we hope that Charlie will always be, and feel, easy and secure in his constituency. He will receive no abuse, at any rate, from MP Watch.
